June 28, 2022 (Porriño, Galicia). Zendal group opens the call for theb 3rd edition of the International Zendal Awards. The main new features for this edition are to increase the prize money of the two established categories, human and animal health, and a special mention is added for those initiatives focused on One Health. A special tribute will also be granted to a long standing scientific career.

Thus begins the period for research teams to present their work in the areas of human and animal health, whose prizes will be 40,000 and 25,000 euros respectively. These figures represent a significant increase with respect to the previous edition that shows a strong commitment by Zendal group to encourage and promote new lines of research in biotechnology.

In addition to these categories, this year, as an important new feature, there is a special mention for research and actions that have made an outstanding contribution to achieving the goals proposed in the One Health strategy. This new category aims to make visible the need for professionals from different disciplines to work, from a comprehensive point of view, in the search for more efficient solutions to the complex health challenges existing in today’s world.

The awards are aimed at both public and private institutions that have shown merit and commitment in areas such as biotechnology or vaccinology. In the selection process, the scientific-technical quality of the initiatives and their viability and applicability will be assessed. Special attention will be paid to applications that have made relevant contributions in biomedical research, knowledge transfer and social innovation and health.

The amounts of the awards must be reinvested in the winning project, with the aim of continuing to advance in actions that improve the health of the population.

Interested institutions have until October the 3rd to present their projects through the website www.zendal.com, after which they will be studied by the jury made up of prominent personalities in the biomedical field and representatives of the Zendal Group.
